The clicker works by telling your pet you approve of its behaviour which is signalled instantly with the click followed by an award (treat).
When you first receive your clicker & introduce it to your pet start by firstly teaching your pet what the clicker means. Click the clicker and treat your pet. Do this several times until you feel that your pet understands that when it hears a click a treat is given. To test that your pet does fully understand what the click means wait a moment until your pet has looked away & click. Your pet should look towards you awaiting the treat.
It is vital that when you click you reward, even if you press the clicker by mistake. If you click you must treat.
