Do you need to wash vet bed before use?
There is no need to wash our vet bedding before use, or most other kinds of vet bedding. However, if you intend to cut the vet bed to size we would recommend that you wash it before cutting just in case there is a small amount of shrinkage.
Is there anything I need to do before washing?
It is often best to brush the vetbed with a hard bristle brush, particularly if you are using other bedding (e.g. hay with Guinea Pigs or Rabbit) or if you have a dog that is susceptible to malting.
What detergent should you use?
We recommend that you use our pet bedding washing detergent, which is the perfect way of keeping the any kind of pet bedding smelling fresh – not just vet bed! It can be used for both machine washing and hand washing.
Do you have any other tips?
If you are worried about the vet bed fleece malting slightly in your washing machine, why not try washing it inside an old pillow case or duvet cover.
