WHAT IS 5-HTP AND WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?

5-HTP is cultivated from Griffonia simplicifolia , a vine plant that best grows on the mountains and termite hills of Central and West Africa. In Africa it is used as a traditional medicine. In modern westernised medicine its well known as a rich source of 5-HTP. The plant produces pods containing seeds abundant in the active ingredient 5-HTP. Extracting 5-HTP from this natural source allows us to meet the high levels of quality we aim to provide.

5-HTP is made via the conversion of dietary L-Tryptophan. L-Tryptophan is found in foods such a Soy products (soybeans and tofu), Red Meats, Poultry, Fish, Eggs, Oat Bran, Sunflower/Pumpkin seeds, Spirulina, Cheeses and Dark Chocolate.

Our tablets are a 9mm round tablet. This is small and very easy to swallow tablet.
