The holy spirit is represented as a white dove. The color used in the son's tunic is red, which represents blood, related to martyrs and love. English: Unknown author Period: Second Half S.XIX Condition: Good Material: Oil on board Measures Icon: Height: 26'5 cm                           Width: 21'9 cm                           Background: 2'7 cm Framework measures: Height: 50'5 cm                                      Width: 45'7 cm                                      Background: 5'2 cm                                      Weight Icon with frame: 3.830 gr. Icon representing the Holy Trinity, father, son and holy spirit, of a sensibly rectangular shape. Oil on panel, probably of Russian origin. It has a correct invoice and a good quality of execution, made with very attractive soft colors. It seems that the table is made up of two pieces, perhaps for some more. It is not flat, being arched along a vertical axis. Its average thickness is about 2'4 cm. The veins of the wood are oriented vertically, the union of the two pieces being also highly vertical. The father is represented as an old man, seated. His gaze to the front, with hair, both hair, mustache and beard, long and white. With his right hand he is blessing, and with his left hand he holds a rod and is supported by the ball of the world. The color used for the mantle of the father is green, which represents nature and spiritual renewal. The son is represented as a young man, seated, his gaze to the front, and with the hair of long dark brown hair, while the hair of the mustache and the beard are of intermediate cut, and dark brown. With his right hand he keeps a cross. His hand holds an open book. The holy spirit is represented as a white dove. The color used in the son's tunic is red, which represents blood, related to martyrs and love. The color used for the son's mantle is blue, which represents the mind, infinity, immortality, royalty and the sacred. As it can be seen in the photographs, the varnish is rusty, so if a cleaning was carried out, the colors would resurface a lot. It has several parts in which the painting has jumped, either by a blow or because of the various climates to which it has been exposed. The age of the icon has also contributed to present the series of chipping that can be seen. Especially, it should be noted several areas in which, apparently, the base of plaster has been raised, and therefore the painting itself, which as a consequence presents a fissure. The most important of these is the one that is located in the left shoulder of the Father. The icon has been repaired in an artisanal way, in spite of that, it presents as a whole a result, with an aspect in general very acceptable. The frame is of magnificent invoice, and is made recently. The measurements are approximate, because the frame icon has not been removed. Very interesting as a collector's item and decorative element. Spectacular in an illuminated niche, with minimalist decoration. Comments: Due to the fact that the differences in tonalities between photos and reality are inevitable, we must bear in mind that the color tones of the photos are not exactly the same as the tones of the actual colors. The painting presents the wear of its time, as well as some stains. It has small flaws. The information provided here are personal opinions not contrasted. SHIPMENTS ARE MADE ON MONDAY.
