Here is an early 70's Ludwig Acrolite with original heads, throw, and, wires.
I originally planned on taking the snare apart, cleaning it up, and, putting new heads on.
The bottom head needs replaced. ( Both heads need replaced, depending on what you're doing with it, in my opinion.
There are a few little knicks on the drum, and, the shell could use a cleaning. Or, just put new heads and wires & play it. That's totally up to you.
( The bottom hoop appears to be a little out of round, to me. ) I figured they would be perfect since it's basically untouched. But, it has been played, even though it hasn't had new heads put on. & The top hoop appears to be nice and round. Still a great drum. Just needs a little love.
The snare case, for it's age, is in very good condition. I believe it's a late 50's, early 60'd model. It isn't perfect, but, the inside bracing is still intact. Everything appears to be solid, to me. There is a corner that has a piece of material missing. And, the front hinges could use some steel wool. They should clean up pretty good. Outside of that, it's a pretty cool snare package. I gotta move some gear.
Hope you enjoy it! Thank you!
