Vendedor: po-agi (219) 100%, Ubicación del artículo: MADRID, Realiza envíos a: Worldwide, Número de artículo: 132886361190 · Brass Compound Microscope by CARY, c. 1875, London in Brass · Signed: "Cary, London", original brass, fine adjustment to the stage, 2 objectives, 1 oculars, in fitted mahogany case in perfect conditions with his key. · Fine example of a mid 19th Century brass microscope in a fitted wooden case, complete with an eyepiece lens, two objective lens and many original accessories. The microscope and base are made of lacquered brass. It tilts, has a rack and pinion main focus and additional fine focus on the rear of the tube. It has a square wooden stage with a manually adjustable slide rest. · The microscope is labelled on the back of the base with the makers name; "CARY. London" · The objectives lens is unmarked The microscope also comes with a good quality eyepiece lens. · The microscope appears to be in good working order and I have set it up and tested it with a six ivory old slides (see photos). I'm sure the lenses would probably benefit from a clean but they produce a clear and bright image all the same and the microscope was easy to focus. · It comes in its beautiful original fitted case with sections to hold the lenses and eyepiece tube and a bracket for the accessories inside the door. There is also a pull out tray for holding slides and the microscope itself sits recessed into a wooden board which also slides out of the box to make removing the microscope easier. The box is superb quality with a brass carrying handle and it comes with two working keys. · The box is a compact 23cm high X 20 cms wide X 14 cms deep. · The microscope is in excellent condition for its age. It has been used and will have normal signs of wear so please don't expect it to be like new. There are some small knocks and light scratches on the base and some tarnishing on the brass. There are some general signs of wear on the box but it is sturdy and has a lovely aged patina. The lenses have small specks of dirt on and although in working order it is really being sold as a decorative / collectors item rather than a scientific instrument. The microscope has been cleaned and lightly polished and it displays beautifully. · The mahogany box itself is in good condition but the key sometimes need to be helped · You buy this what you view, sell as is. · This will be very safe packaged and shipped without delay once payment has been received.· All items I sell are vintage or antique and may not be as new or when first made and may show signs of wear, age, use, or soiling, rust, dents, scratches, chips, flakes, or states that are other than when originally made. Unless stated, ages of items are unknown.· Please ask for more detail information if you are not unsure. More pictures are available upon request.· Returns are not accepted · I’ll ship the item from Spain
