Beautifully polished blade which is still very sharp. It is likely that this is votive or a grave-good in nature. LOW STARTING PRICE for an artifact with provenance and of this quality. In superb condition with beautiful flaking. This axe type represents the end of the stoneage ... with the flint knappers mimicking the early copper and bronze axes made at the dawn of the bronze age. Approximately dated to 1500 BC. Found in a large cache of axes in a field in Eskilstrup, Zealand, Denmark. Previously in an old Danish Private collection.
