Hope - Blanket Cedar Chest Kit Do-It-Yourself Woodworking - Solid Wood Trunk DIY

           This cedar chest kit is made in an Amish woodworking shop in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. The entire chest is made of solid, 3/4-inch thick cedar wood.  Each kit comes unassembled and unfinished, the pieces have been cut to basic sizes and planed. Basic woodworking skills are needed to assemble a kit. Ends need to be sanded flush and some panel sizing may be necessary (but not for the dovetail joints). Trim needs to be mitered and cut to length. The tools required to finish a kit are: hammer or nailer, nail countersink punch, glue and nails, wood putty, miter saw, belt or orbital sander, table saw (if panel sizing is necessary), and bar clamps. Instructions are included with each kit (placed inside the shipping pouch); the recommended finish is a clear lacquer. Each kit comes with hinges and a lock.

     We have kits in three sizes, and accessories also can be added. They come in small - 36L x 17W x 18H, medium - 42L x 19W x 19H, and large (standard) size - 46L x 20W x 21H. I'll deduct $15 from the final price if you want a medium chest and $30 for a small. Accessories include a routered heart design on the front ($25 extra, pic 4 shows the design), hand carved wheat design on front (pic 2, $75), dutch birds and heart design (pics 3, 11 - $75), slide tray (42x8x3" - $55), seat rails (pic 12 - $55), dovetail joints (pics 4, 6, 11 - $85), caster kit ($45), and cushion ($65). We can make almost any design as well, including one you come up with, pic 12 shows more options ($75). This auction is for one plain front standard size flat top cedar chest kit (pic 1), I'll add $15 if you prefer a waterfall front (pics 2, 4, shown in oak and 10 in cedar). Let me know if you want any changes to the standard kit before paying, so I can adjust the invoice, or else I can send a second invoice for any upgrades.
