This large 21cm biface has been skillfully created on a very thin limestone flake. It is roughly lanceolate shaped and consists of a elongated point with sharp lateral scraping edges. Why the early hominid maker chose to make this biface on limestone is rather peculiar? Southern Britain, where this was found has copius good quality flint to make such tools. It would have also been easier to work flint as opposed to harder limestone.
