Item:153778044970Lower Palaeolithic - Rare UK found borer. c.450,000 BP. A superb example of an acheulean elongated borer, displaying a perfect form. The dorsal face has cleverly retained cortex along one lateral edge. The opposing edge has been well shaped. The ventral face displays several facets. And at the distal end can be found a superbly produced classic borer point. With silver-grey / orange coloured ancient patina. A wonderful example, rarely offered. Size 8.5 x 3.5cm From an old collection and retrieved from a famous and documented eroding paleo channel.
