Seller: muddy-feet (2.773) 100%, Location: West Malling, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 114127417279 Middle Palaeolithic, Mousterian biface. This superb Neanderthal made tool has been created on a thick flint flake. The ventral face has an appealing yellow marbled vein through the middle. It is triangular in plan with a finely squared dihedral distal point. The distal tip resembles a curving adze like edge. The proximal butt is beveled with the dorsal side retaining some original cortex. This section of the tool appears to have served as a robust beveled end scraper, perhaps for shaving wood? H. neanderthalensis c 60,000 years bp From an old collection, Found Kent, UK Provenance: Ownership History Available, Material: flint, Type: Biface
