Si han transcurrido más de 3 meses de la última situación de riesgo, el Autotest VIH es apropiado y fiable para esta situación.

El resultado tras la realización del autotest es muy fácil de interpretar:

NEGATIVO: si tras los 15 minutos no aparece ninguna línea de color roja debajo de la línea roja de control que ya existe.

POSITIVO: si tras los 15 minutos aparece otra línea roja paralela a la línea roja de control que ya existe.
