Supra Splicer Used but you would hardly know it. I remember having one of these splicers back in the day and I can state that they make fantastic joins. So, if you prefer to do cement joins as opposed to using adhesive tape and are looking for a quality splicer, this just might be for you. There are two film scrapers attached which not only allows scraping of the emulsion from one piece of film but also allows you to roughen up the base side to give an even better bonding. As well as creating a second keying surface by scraping the base side, it will (with a little practice) create a less bulky join resulting in quieter passing of the splice through the projector gate. Many cement splicers did not include this second scraper which made the Supra stand out from the crowd. I have taken some up close macro photos to show the excellent condition of the scrapers and the cutting face of the matrix which cuts the film when you swing it downwards.
