Número de artículo:166667850944ROM, Acqua Felice y Sta. Susanna grabado, Melchoir Küsel n.o Joh. Wilh. Baur. ROME, View of the square in front of the church of Santa Susanna with the Acqua Felice and the church of Santa Maria della Vittoria in the background on the left, etching on thin laid paper without watermark by Melchior Küsel (1626 - 1683) after a drawing by Johann Wilhelm Baur (1607 - 1642). Falsely labelled "Piazza di Spagna in Rom " below the depiction Dimensions: 14 x 22 cm (plate) 30.8 x 37.3 (sheet) Condition, see photos: browned and slightly stained at the edges, small tear at the bottom in the wide margin (outside the image), vertical drying crease of the paper sheet (occurs during production), traces of former stitching on the right side After Baur's death, the Augsburg engraver and publisher Melchior Küsel acquired around 250 of his drawings, which he published as engravings from 1670 onwards. Küsel's topographical ignorance is probably responsible for the incorrect caption on the sheet offered here.
