Packaging & Postage details

  • When sending plants, it is extremely important to pack them as securely as possible.  Therefore we do not use stuffing. Instead, we have developed a UNIQUE PACKING METHOD which makes plant movement virtually impossible in the parcelAll  pots are covered with special media to the very top for the postage and then wrapped therefore compost is securely locked  during postage and roots won't be disturbed.  Whenever place an order for whatever plant, you can be certain that your item will arrive in perfect condition to your door. We always send every plant in sturdy, reusable plastic pot even if it does not fit into the "small" parcel category.
  • We will send you an email about the exact dispatch time, including details about your parcel as t here are also some guidelines to follow when opening the parcel to unwrap your plant(s) securely.
  • In almost all circumstances, we use Royal Mail 24h service to send your parcels with the delivery aim of 1 day in the UK; or Standard Airmail to overseas. You have the option for Recorded (Signed For) deliveryRoyal Mail has length limitations for medium parcels, it cannot exceed 61cm, if sending it within the UK and 60cm, to overseas. This means that if rarely, a plant is longer than that, we have to cut it back to fit into the box. Whenever possible, we try to avoid this, using the right plant for you. For parcels heavier than 2kgs, we may use UPS fully tracked service. We can send plants in one single parcel for up to 20kgs (size limitations may apply) both to the UK and overseas.  Length limitations are far better with UPS service.
  • We combine postage whenever possible,  for example if you order plants supplied in 8-9cm pots, the additionals will only cost £1.25 each (within the UK) and £2.00 to overseas. If you order several different plants, please always ask for invoice so we can calculate the reduced postage.  You never pay more than the actual cost for sending the parcel so  we do not make any profit on P&P (even if we don't offer "free" postage which is in fact "inclusive" postage and would result in higher prices),  and the packaging is included in the item price.
  • YOUR TOTAL SATISFACTION IS OUR PRIORITY, therefore, in the extremely unlikely event the plant gets lost during shipping (you MUST receive the plant in 7 days in the UK and 12 days abroad) OR arrive damaged, we will send you another plant(s) free of charge. Please note that we may send any plant(s) Signed For at our own cost in case of a plant which is hard to replace in the very unlikely event of "lost in transit" - in these cases, we will send you an email prior to dispatch.
  • Please note that we guarantee ONE WORKING DAY DISPATCH time but we cannot guarantee the exact DELIVERY time as it is beyond our control.  For extra peace of mind, from abroad - especially in Summer when the weather is often hot - please consider to order International Signed For delivery (with tracking number) which is usually quicker than standard Airmail, which is NOT TRACKED.
  • It is important to us to care about the environment,  so our plants are grown in injection moulded, strong, reusable plastic pots (this ensures too that they don't break during shipping and afterwards) , and we pack our plants in partially recycled cardboard boxes.
  • All items will be sent 2-3 days after the registered payment .
* Items bought on the day before any Bank Holiday will be sent the next available working day when Royal Mail operates (except Saturdays to avoid weekend delays).

About us We are a family run nursery, founded in 2008, growing rare and exotic hardy trees and shrubs and offering them as young plants and as unusual fan trained plants with a unique shape. We are based in North Wales in the Vale of Clwyd which provides relative warmth in Summer for a good growth but also enough rain and cold in Winter to help adapt the plants to an average UK climate. We propagate and grow all of our stock on site from seed or cutting, we do not import or buy any of our plants. Instead, we take care of the plant from its very first day of life. All of purchased plants will be FRESHLY HAND-PICKED from our nursery on the very day of purchase. If you have any questions please feel free to ask, We usually respond on the same day. Thank you for your interest! ©  Please note: all rights reserved to JURASSICPLANTS NURSERIES concerning all photographs provided for this listing.
  • Condition: We will send a freshly hand-picked plant which will arrive in excellent condition with no damage, thanks to our UNIQUE packing method. All plants are despatched in sturdy pots and are grown by ourselves here in the UK, so they are perfect for these climatic conditions. The pictures shown are for illustration purposes only, to show the plant in it's adult form given the right growing conditions. The picture of the potted plant (if shown), is an example of a similar plant ready for despatch.
