Item:233258562275Vintage Singer 185K electric sewing machine, Good Working Order, good condition. Commissioned at Singer's factory in Kilbowie, Scotland on February 25th 1959, making it 60 years old, one of a group of 50,000 at that time. The model 185K has the same make up as the model 99K, just in a more modern dress, with tan and beige paintwork. It is a 3/4 size machine with round bobbins, freely available and takes a 15 x1 needle, also freely available. The machine is in good cosmetic condition and sews very well, straight stitch and reverse. It has been cleaned, oiled and adjusted. The bobbin winder works well. It has an attached light and the original motor and foot control which work well. This is a little workhorse, capable of sewing denim and light leather as well as finer fabrics. The base is covered in cream grass cloth, which is a bit tatty, it doesn't stand the rest of time like polished wood. The case is in red leatherette and cream grass cloth, also a bit tatty in places, but it has protected the machine well. Postage for mainland UK is £14 by 24 hour courier, due to the weight of the machine. Highlands and Islands and Ireland will be more, please email for a quote. Winning bidder is welcome to collect in person and pay cash.Condition:Used, Brand:SINGER
